Curlin wasn't the only winner on Saturday the 27th. The children of Anna House were big winners also. Thanks to the generosity of Jess Jackson and his wife, Barbara Banke. Their Curlin for Kids Charity donated $100,000 to the scholarship fund.
Saturday morning, hours before Curlin became a $10,000,000 winner, Barbara Banke visited Anna House to give books to the children and (symbolically) present The BCCA with a check for $100,000. The preschool children entertained Ms. Banke with two songs. Ms. Banke was very impressed with the children and the work that The BCCA is doing for them and their parents.
The preschoolers gave Ms. Banke a huge "thank you" card" that they had prepared for the visit. They also presented her with a painting of Curlin by renowned equine artist Robert Clark.
