BCCA thanks Major Chuck Kilbride (ret), Chairman of the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation campaign for helping make this upcoming Christmas special for all the backstretch children whose families work at Belmont Park and Aqueduct Racetrack.

On Thursday, October 27, we participated in Jumpstart's Read for the Record, a national campaign that was launched over a decade ago to address the educational inequities that leave too many children unprepared for kindergarten. This year our volunteer Marybeth read the book, "The Bear Ate Your Sandwich" by Julia Sarcone-Roach, as part of the world’s largest shared reading experience. The K-prep classroom took the campaign a step further by preparing their own tea sandwiches and making bear ears.

On Wednesday, Aug. 24, Racing for the Children presented "Cirque du BCCA" at Saratoga's Hall of Springs. The event benefited the Belmont Childcare Association and honored Michael J. Del Giudice. Top thoroughbred trainers D. Wayne Lukas and Todd Pletcher were our celebrity auctioneers while NYRA on-air host Andy Serling emceed. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this special event.
We are very excited about our partnership with the Camp A.N.C.H.O.R. program and we thank Councilwoman Erin King Sweeney for making it possible!
